Navtrak is a wireless vehicle location system that uses GPS and wireless data to transmit data about fleet vehicles to a data center. I have had involvement in nearly every aspect of the Navtrak system, apart from the MobileManager© Hardware. My roles have included at various times over my career:

My primary development language is Coldfusion. My primary database server configuration is SQL Server. My primary design application is Photoshop, and I hand-code all of my code in Dreamweaver. For mobile applications I have experience with PhoneGap(Cordova) and XCode. It's fair to say, I'm a Mac. I use a white iPhone 4s, a white iPad, and a 15" MacBookPro.

My three largest roles at Navtrak have been built around web-based applications for use in-house, as well as client-facing. The in-house application is the main interface to our entire system to manage fleet vehicles, users, companies, etc. A mulitude of reports, management tools, and user-permissions features are wrapped up into a easy-to-use interface that is accessed, used, and visited over 10,000 times per day, by over 60 users simultaneously.

The web-based reporting system is the most-used feature of the entire Navtrak suite of products. There are 18 standard reports, as well as 7 custom reports for specific clients to view their data in the way they want. I also created a schedule and receive reporting system that allows users to setup their own report settings and schedule for delivery right into their inbox with either a PDF or a CSV or EXCEL document.

The last project is what we call Mini, it is an Adobe Air product that I had a major hand in creating. I developed the user-interface with a colleague from a drawing on a piece of paper into my Photoshop and out to a mockup in about 5 hours. The design stuck, and we released it about 6 months later. The started as a wild idea, and today over 2000 users enjoy the features in MyNavtrak Mini.

Lately, I have been working on Mobile Applications as well as increasing my javascript, and jQuery prowess. I am excited about mobile development and have chosen to focus my efforts on this field. I built a test application (ported only for iOS products), to demonstrate that I could build an end-to-end mobile app. I built my service layer in Coldfusion, using a SQL server database, on top of that I used Dreamweaver to write the HTML, CSS and Javascript necessary to engage the user in a nice experience. From this I was able to perform login duties, viewing a list, diving deeper into a list of stops for a vehicle, and then finally viewing that vehicle on a map. All of this is pretty simple on the web, through a desktop browser, but making it work on a smaller form factor had it's challenges. I enjoy this, and I tinker all night long with new web technologies.

Web developer, graphic designer. Helped a local internet provider start a web development shop. Created basic html websites as well as custom shopping cart applications using iHTML and a touch of Coldfusion.
